Stradbroke Island, or 'Straddie' to locals, is based just off the east coast of Brisbane, Queensland - nestled between Moreton Bay and the Pacific Ocean. It offers protected bays to the west and wide open surf beaches and gorges to the east. This angle of straddie was captured at the gorge at Point Lookout at the entrance to the Pacific. The colours shades and depth of the sndstone rocks fascinates me and each time I capture this scene I find new colours and shadows in the cliffs and the sea below.
Hand painted in archival ink and watercolour on archival Arches 300gsm water colour paper.
The piece come professionally framed in a Tasmanian oak box frame (40 x 20) with a floating image, a double floating matboard and is finished with Art Glass (anti reflection).
