Part of my Sicily series - I explore the juxtaposition of a flora based border, the famous Sicilian lemons (limoni), and the baroque splendor of churches in the southern Sicilian province of Ragusa. The area gained significant international coverage thanks to the Inspector Montalbano tv series based on the books by Andrea Camilleri. Ragusa province holds many jewels of the Baroque against cliffs, rocky outcrops and blue seas of the Med. This painting caputres the exquisite doorway of San Giorgio in the town of Ragusa.
The painting has a twin, San Pietro Modica and they look wonderful together!! If you wish to purchase both works I can offer a discount of 15%. Please contact me directly simone@desmarchelier.com
